Father John Petrich serves as the President of the St. Louis County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy (SLCLEC).

Rev. John C. Petrich was born in Winston, MN in 1956. He grew up in Ely, MN graduating from the Ely Memorial High School in 1975. John received a BA in History from St. Thomas University of St. Paul  and completed the seminary program at St. John's Vianney Seminary in 1979. It was 1983 when John graduated with a Master of Divinity from the seminary at St. John's in Collegeville, and was ordained for priesthood for the Diocese of Duluth, MN.

Fr. Petrich ministry began in Hibbing, MN at Blessed Sacrament and then in 1987 was appointed to St. Charles Parish of Cass Lake, MN and St. Anne's Parish of Bena, MN.  It was during this time that John began volunteer chaplaincy work serving with the Cass Lake Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

Father John was transfered to Duluth in 1990 as a hospital and jail chaplain and began serving as chaplain with the SLCLEC.  John became a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC) in 1991 and has completed their Basic, Senior, Master and Diplomat Levels of certification. He also seved four years as the ICPC Region Three Director which covers the five states of MN, ND, SD, NE, IA.  Currently Fr. Petrich is assigned as chaplain of St. Luke's Hospital & Law Enforcement in Duluth.
