Chaplain John Koppel was born December 7, 1953 in Hibbing, Mn. "in a log cabin that he built himself." ;-)

He was graduated from Hibbing High School in 1972, and worked for 10 years for the Hanna Mining Company as a surveyor.  Following this work experinece John felt God's call to pursue his pastoral education through Global University in Springfield, Mo.  He is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, having pastored at First Assembly of God church in Hibbing from 1987-1991, and retired from the pastoring the Chisholm Assembly of God church.   He was married in 1977.  His wife, Gina, is a licensed Minister of Music with the Assemblies of God, and they have one married daughter, Courtney, who pastors in Edina, Mn. 

John is a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC).
